Nika has been interested in the sciences since the age of five years old, when she first began to attend summer science camps. Her interest in science and technology fields has only grown, which has led her to create a computer program, participate in the Science Olympiad, and attend lectures which cover several topics in the science field. She is currently working on a two year long internship at the Sackler Institute for Comparative Genomics lab at the American Museum of Natural History where she uses molecular biology to study captive wild cats and their genetic makeup. She will pursue the internship past its end date, and she and her mentors work will be published. She will continue to pursue molecular biology in college, where she can cross register with MIT and the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering.
