After a presentation at MIT Launch, Melinda began brainstorming innovative healthcare technologies, such as “neuroprosthetics and microfluidics.” With her team, Melinda founded Optimeyes, a child-friendly app designed to conduct vision test on its users. Melinda proposed the addition of the option to participate in a videoconference with optometrists following a diagnosis. She founded her high school’s Launch Club to increase interest in entrepreneurship, and she serves as the Key Club president. Melinda is a Hugh O’Brian Leadership Seminar Ambassador, and she has participated in the Brown Leadership Institute and the University of California San Diego Global Environmental Leadership Program. Melinda will study management at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
