Melanie Hubbard

Melanie, the class president, experienced cyber bullying at a party by a student with whom she had no acquaintance. She recalls the experience as, “I shut my eyes, and felt the rush of intensity flow through my body and melt to sadness.” Melanie explains the more internal, psychological scars of cyber bullying versus physical violence. She soon founded “Cyber You,” an anti-bullying organization, which not only serves as a source of information, but also as a constant support system for students who are former victims or who are currently being bullied. Melanie is also a waitress and a member of the Environmental Club, the Spanish National Honor Society, and Model United Nations.
