Having grown up in a home where the discussion of science was a part of every day and having seen how disease can affect lives on a personal scale, Jacqueline intends to major in health-related fields. It is her goal to combine scientific research and engineering in a way that will help create new, innovative ways of looking at and researching medical issues. Jackie competes in Math Club competitions and science fairs, having most recently won first place in Zoology at the Delaware Valley Science Fair. Jackie completed a summer research internship with the National Institute of Health Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease where she studied the inflammatory stage of acute lung injury. She also participated in MIT’s Women’s Technology Program where she studied computer science, electrical engineering, and discrete math, and created an electric motor for her final project.
