One day Jack saw a news story detailing the predicament of a family in which the mother had passed, her medical bills still needed to be paid, and the newly-bankrupt family was living out of a truck. Instead of volunteering at his local food bank for a few hours, Jack choose a broader approach. He created the geo-located smartphone app and website FoodFinder. The application pinpoints the location of both the child and the nearest free food resource. Jack is a President’s Volunteer Service Award recipient, and he is a Prudential Spirit of Community Awards: Distinguished National Finalist.
