Ella is president of Accepting the Greener Challenge (AGC), an organization promoting eco-friendly living and sustainability. Ella led a team of her peers in installing a composting bin on campus. She also wrote a grant to attain funding to industrialize her school’s composting system. Due to Ella’s efforts, a local company now collects her school’s compost and students can compost more types of waste. Ella has also written a grant to construct an on-campus garden and cistern system to capture runoff water from the school’s roof. Most recently, Ella has led environmental policy and worldwide sustainability workshops. Ella is an environment polymer chemistry researcher, a milkweed planting organizer, and a recipient of the Community Innovation Award.
