As a freshman, Elizabeth placed 1st in the state of New York in DECA’s Principles of Marketing competition, which afforded her the opportunity to travel to Anaheim, CA, for international competition. Elizabeth qualified for DECA’s International Career Development Conference in both 10th and 11th grade. During her junior year, Elizabeth placed in the top ten internationally in the Retail Merchandising competition. She is currently serving as the State Vice President of New York DECA—leading events for New York’s 7,000 DECA members, ensuring the publication of the monthly newsletter, and working with other New York DECA state officers. Elizabeth conducted a presentation on the benefits of DECA to a congressman’s aide, which garnered the support of Congressman Chris Collins who later joined DECA’s Congressional Advisory Board. Elizabeth and a team of her peers won a case-study competition sponsored by Google. She has participated in LEAD Business Summer Institute at the University of Michigan and the Young Women’s Institute at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Elizabeth is a member of Model UN, the Student Senate, and FBLA. She will major in economics.
