Chijiun (Apri) Su
Chijiun (Apri) Su is a high school senior interested in environmental law. She has worked on various sustainable initiatives from leading the building of a 21x10x13 foot green wall at Brooklyn Tech High School to creating a non-profit organization that combats environmental degradation in racial minority areas. Her green wall project will improve the school’s indoor air quality by lessening the emission of carbon dioxide and removing VOCs and harmful toxins. In addition, it allows the student body (6000 students) to learn about green infrastructure, thereby stimulating their interest in environmental science. Her organization, Department of Environmental Justice, lobbies against corporate control and advocates for nature in community-based volunteering events.
