Amayah Purnell graduated from Hemet High School in Hemet, CA. with a 3.53 GPA. As a rising freshman, Amayah plans to study Africana Studies at San Diego State University. Throughout her high school journey, she was President of Young Black Scholars and secretary for the Youth Advisory Council, organizations that dedicate themselves to community service projects while supporting the leadership abilities of high school students. In the future, she hopes to pursue her Master’s Degree and teaching credentials to become an educator. Amayah enjoys playing with her two dogs and is currently teaching herself to play the piano. Amayah’s hobbies include bicycling, dancing, and enhancing her art as a Disc Jockey (DJ). Amayah’s travel goals include traveling to Egypt to explore the pyramids and visit the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut.
